Credits are how work is metered. One request consumes credits according to how much work it actually did.
What consumes them
Reading the usage panel
Usage shows what you have spent and on what, broken down by run. Two rows worth understanding:
- Graph ingest — the cost of writing what a run learned back into the organisation model. It is why later tasks are better informed.
- Continuation — the cost of picking a task back up.
Keeping it down
The highest-leverage habit is choosing the right build scope. Most requests do not need Entire system, and a request on Only this that turns out to need more can always be re-run wider.
Setting choice variables to a lower number also cuts cost directly.
Running out
Work stops rather than silently degrading. Top up or upgrade to continue.
