Autocapture
Once tracking is installed, common interactions are recorded without you instrumenting anything:
$rageclick is the one to look at first. It is the closest thing to a frustration signal you get for free.
Properties
Events carry properties describing the element and the context: what was clicked, on what page, by which visitor.
Custom events
Send your own for things the DOM cannot tell you — a subscription activating, a background job finishing, a limit being hit. These are the events your funnels will be built from.
Naming
Name events after what happened in your product's language, not the UI's. subscription_started outlives three redesigns; blue_button_clicked does not.
Element inspection
An overlay lets you point at elements on your own site to see what they emit, which is faster than guessing selectors.
