Analytics is first-party product analytics for your own product: what people do in it, where they drop out, and who comes back.
It is first-party in the literal sense — the events are collected and stored on infrastructure that belongs to this platform, not a third-party analytics vendor.
Getting data in
Page views and common interactions are captured automatically once tracking is installed. You can also send your own events for things that matter to you and have no obvious DOM equivalent — a payment clearing, a job completing.
The reports
People
Users and Cohorts move between aggregate numbers and the individuals behind them.
Definitions
You do not have to instrument perfectly up front. Defined events name meaningful actions after the fact, and apply retroactively.
