Tata 1mg is India's largest digital consumer healthcare platform, combining an e-pharmacy, diagnostics, teleconsultation and a general health and wellness store, owned by Tata Digital. For a brand or a seller it presents two doors. The first is a self serve partner route: register at partners.1mg.com, upload a catalogue from an Excel template, and process orders through a seller panel. The second is an outright purchase route that Tata 1mg states plainly on its own how it works page: "We also offer to buy your products subject to eligibility and manage end-to-end fulfilment", which is a vendor purchase order relationship. Neither route has a published API. Everything below is read from Tata 1mg's own partner pages.
At a glance
What it is
Tata 1mg operates an e-pharmacy delivering prescription and over the counter medicines, a diagnostics business with its own labs and collection network, teleconsultation, and a broad wellness catalogue. Its own partner site quotes more than 195 million visitors, more than 27 million orders delivered, and coverage of more than 1,900 cities, checked 2026-09-21.
The seller base is mixed, and the mix matters for how you model the relationship. Partner testimonials on the site are from large consumer health brands, Reckitt Benckiser, Abbott, Dabur and Morepen, which are brand suppliers rather than marketplace sellers. Alongside them sit pharmacies and sellers who list and ship their own stock through the panel. Tata 1mg itself uses three fulfilment shapes, all three named on its own pages:
- Easy Ship. Tata 1mg's logistics partners pick up from your location and deliver to the customer, described as "at zero cost to you".
- Self Ship. You pack and ship to the customer yourself.
- Outright purchase. Tata 1mg buys your product, subject to eligibility, and manages end to end fulfilment. This is the vendor purchase order model, and it is the one large brands are on.
Which of the three you are on changes the object model completely. On Easy Ship and Self Ship you own the listing, the stock and the consumer order. On outright purchase you own none of those: you receive purchase orders, ship to a Tata 1mg warehouse, and are paid against goods received. Establish which arrangement the account is on before designing any ingestion.
API access
There is none, and the absence is well evidenced rather than merely unfound. We read Tata 1mg's partner overview, partnership benefits, pricing, how it works and frequently asked questions pages in full. Across all five there is not a single mention of an API, an integration, an ERP connector, a feed or an aggregator. Every catalogue instruction is an Excel template. Every order instruction is a seller panel click path.
Hostname checks on 2026-09-21: seller.1mg.com, vendor.1mg.com, retailer.1mg.com and partner.1mg.com do not resolve. www.1mg.com/seller, /sell-on-1mg and /partner return genuine HTTP 404s. partners.1mg.com resolves and serves the partner site. Tata 1mg's public integration presence is also absent from Unicommerce's integration list, which does name other Tata Digital properties.
Onboarding, from Tata 1mg's own five step description:
- Registration. "You only need GSTIN and Bank Account."
- Submit documents. "KYC Documents and Licenses as per product category." Pharmacy licences apply to prescription categories.
- Product listing. Upload product details in the onboarding portal, using a sample template.
- Receive orders. After KYC and catalogue approval you are onboarded onto the seller panel, with training provided by Tata 1mg.
One detail that matters for any catalogue tooling: the template differs by regulatory class. Tata 1mg's frequently asked questions state that the product format for over the counter, non pharma, and prescription, pharma, categories is different, and that you download the relevant sample Excel after logging in to the Partner Onboarding Portal. So there are at least two catalogue schemas, and you can only see them once approved.
Authentication
Seller panel login only, with a password and a forgotten password flow. There is no API key, no token endpoint, no signing scheme and nothing to refresh. A credential store for Tata 1mg holds panel credentials and nothing more, which means any automation is browser automation and inherits all of its fragility.
Objects we can read
Orders
Through the seller panel. Tata 1mg's own instruction for handling a received order is a four step panel workflow:
- Download the invoice and the label.
- Pack the product and paste the label on the packaging.
- Download the manifest.
- Either hand the parcel to Tata 1mg's logistics partner, on Easy Ship, or arrange delivery yourself, on Self Ship.
That tells you three artefacts exist as downloadable documents, the invoice, the shipping label and the manifest, and it tells you that no programmatic order retrieval is offered. Any pipeline here is a panel export or a document scrape.
Products and listings
Catalogue is uploaded, not synced. Tata 1mg asks for product category, brand name, product features and specifications, product images and price. Its team will help polish content, which it describes as working "closely with our sellers, brand partners and manufacturers" on product content quality. Listable categories named on the site: allopathy, ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines, vitamins and nutrition supplements, medical devices and other health related products.
Inventory
Managed in the seller panel. Tata 1mg's own wording is that after onboarding "you would be responsible for processing and managing your orders and inventory through the seller panel". No stock API, no feed.
Shipments and tracking
On Easy Ship, Tata 1mg's logistics partners carry the parcel and the label comes from the panel, so the AWB is Tata 1mg's. On Self Ship you generate and hold your own tracking. Packaging is the seller's responsibility either way; Tata 1mg offers to introduce packaging suppliers but does not supply materials.
Payments and settlements
This is the best documented object, and it is documented as a dashboard rather than an interface.
- Reconciliation dashboard. Tata 1mg states "We have a Reconciliation Dashboard for checking payments" and that reconciliation reports can be downloaded "for the period of 7 days from the dashboard". So the report window is seven days, which sets the natural cadence for any ingestion job.
- Payment cycle. "Tata 1mg will settle your payments within 7 business days post delivery of the product to the customer", paid directly to the seller's bank account. Its own worked example: a product delivered on 1 July is paid by 9 July, assuming one weekend and no bank holidays.
- Fee formula. Published on the pricing page as a subtraction chain: product price, the price you share with Tata 1mg, minus margin, a percentage of product price that "depends on category", minus GST at 18 percent on the margin, minus other applicable taxes, specifically TCS and TDS as per government regulation.
- What is not charged. Tata 1mg explicitly states no shipping fee, no fixed fee and no collection fee.
Note the shape of that formula. The commission is a category dependent percentage and GST is charged on the commission, not on the product price, which is the standard Indian marketplace construction. TCS and TDS are statutory withholdings, not platform fees, and should be modelled separately from settlements.fees[] if your accounting needs them split.
Returns, customers, locations
Not documented on the public partner pages. Returns on a pharmacy platform are constrained by regulation and by batch and expiry handling, so expect the panel to carry more return detail than a general marketplace, and expect none of it to be reachable programmatically.
The outright purchase path
If your account is on outright purchase, the object sequence is a retail supply cycle and not a marketplace one:
Tata 1mg publishes none of these document formats. Batch numbers and expiry dates will be on them, because pharmaceutical goods receipt cannot work without them, and they have no home in the unified model as it stands. Put them in raw and raise the schema gap.
Writing back: listings, price and stock
Yes, but only through the panel. Catalogue by Excel upload against a category specific template, price and stock by panel entry. There is no bulk API, no feed processing report and no job status endpoint. Practical consequence: a seller on several marketplaces will keep Tata 1mg in sync by hand or by browser automation, and should expect it to be the slowest channel to update.
Webhooks and notifications
None. Nothing to subscribe to. Orders surface in the panel and, presumably, by email notification. Poll the panel on whatever cadence your operations can sustain, and pull the reconciliation report on its seven day window.
Rate limits and pagination
Not applicable. The only pagination that exists is the seven day reconciliation report window.
Mapping to the unified model
Gaps and open questions
- Whether Tata 1mg offers any API or SFTP to large sellers, unpublished but available on request, is unverified. Nothing on the public partner site suggests one, and no aggregator we could check lists Tata 1mg as a channel.
- Category margin percentages are not published. They are the single most important commercial number and they come from the contract.
- The catalogue template schemas for pharma and non pharma are only visible after login, so the field list cannot be documented here.
- Return handling, batch and expiry capture, and cold chain rules are not documented publicly and will matter operationally.
- Whether the partner portal and the outright purchase relationship share one identity or use separate systems is unverified.
partners.1mg.comserved unrendered Django template markers in its HTML on 2026-09-21, which suggests parts of the partner site are stale. Prefer what the pages say over how they are built.
