Trell

Trell was an Indian lifestyle video social commerce app with no public seller API: its domain now serves nothing and there is no live channel to integrate.

Trell was an Indian short video and lifestyle community app that added a commerce layer, Trell Shop, selling beauty, personal care and household products through creator led video. It was social commerce rather than a marketplace in the Amazon or Flipkart sense: brands were onboarded by a category team, sold through creator content, and Trell handled the storefront. There was never a public developer portal or a documented seller API. As of 2026-09-21 the situation is starker than that: trell.co still holds a DNS record but serves nothing over HTTP or HTTPS, and trell.shop is parked and listed for sale. There is no channel here to integrate with.

What it is

Trell launched in Bengaluru as a lifestyle content app built around vernacular short video, then moved into commerce by letting creators sell the products they featured. The seller side was closer to a consignment or vendor relationship than to an open marketplace: brands were signed by Trell's category team, and there was no self serve seller sign up. That structural fact matters more than the technology one. Even when Trell was operating, a connector to it would have been a bespoke arrangement with their team, not something you could provision.

Evidence that it is not reachable

  • trell.co and www.trell.co resolve to 20.204.220.169, and api.trell.co resolves to the same address. No HTTP or HTTPS request to any of those hostnames completed on 2026-09-21. The name resolves, the service does not answer.
  • The Internet Archive availability API returns no snapshot at all for trell.co, www.trell.co or trell.co/shop.
  • trell.shop resolves and serves a domain parking page listing the domain for sale at 24,995 US dollars through Spaceship.com, checked 2026-09-21.
  • trell.in resolves to a Google front end address but did not answer either.
Warning

A live DNS record is not a live service. Trell is the clearest example in this catalogue of a channel that will pass a naive "does the domain exist" health check and fail every real one. If your channel registry does liveness checks, check for an HTTP response, not for a resolvable name.

API access

None. There is no developer portal, no partner programme and no seller credential console. A mobile application backend existed at api.trell.co, which is the app's own private interface rather than a published API, and it is not answering.

None. There is no reachable service holding orders, listings, inventory, shipments, returns or settlements.

If you sold on Trell historically and need settlement or order history for accounting or a dispute, that is a legal and commercial recovery question to put to the operating company, not an integration question. Nothing in the unified model can be populated from a public surface.

Nothing maps. Do not create a trell channel value. If you have historic Trell rows in a legacy table, keep them, mark the channel inactive, and exclude it from every sync schedule so that a dead hostname is not retried on a timer.

Gaps and open questions

  • Whether the operating company still exists in any form, and whether any successor holds seller records, is unverified. Nothing we could reach speaks to it.
  • Whether Trell ever exposed a seller API to aggregators is unverified. We found no aggregator listing Trell as a supported channel on the integration lists we could read, including Unicommerce's public list, which is itself weak evidence that no such integration was ever productised.
  • The date the service went dark is not something we can establish. The absence of any Internet Archive capture for trell.co is unusual and may reflect a robots exclusion during its operating life rather than an absence of the site.
